    Coisas do Western Europeu.

  3. I found some new information on Don Powell I thought I would share with you. Don Powell was an American singer born in 1936, Los Angeles, California. He arrived in Italy in early 1960s as a Archie Savage ballet's conductor, when the group disbanded at the end of the tour Archie and Don decided to settle in Rome. Don founded The King's Men Orchestra with whom he performed with success in the many important Italian clubs as a singer and pianist. He later formed The Don Powell Orchestra. His first recording in Italy was “Come è Grande Questa Casa Senza Te” and “Mani Fredde”, two romantic songs suited to deep, warm tones of his voice. He then signed with the Parade label where he released several 45 rpm records from Spaghetti Westerns where he had sung the main theme. He worked with Marcello Giombini, Ennio Morricone, Anton Garcia Abril, Carlo Savina and many others.

Here is where the story ends for the moment. What happened to Don is still a mystery. I know he was married at one time and had at least one child a daughter which I have had very limited access to. I have read that he may have committed suicide but that has not been confirmed. The research will continue…

I've heard he may have had AIDS and comitted suicide but that still needs to be proven.

Aqui é o lugar onde a história termina no momento. A pesquisa vai continuar ...

Thanks Tom, I'll do a post with these new informções, but nevertheless could not any more information about it.
      We'll keep looking.

  4. Is there any chance that you have this version of the song available for download? This is my absolute favourite spaghetti western vocal song and i noticed it isnt exactly the same as on the Carlo Savina "Joko Invoca Dio... E Muori" soundtrack from 68. This would really be appreciated!
    Thanks
